A study in the journal General Dentistry recommends brewed tea for its ability to prevent tooth erosion. The study emphasizes that the erosive effect of tea is on par with water, which has no erosive impact. However, experts caution against adding milk, lemon, or sugar to tea, as these diminish its natural flavonoids and associated benefits. Conversely, prepackaged iced teas are discouraged due to their citric acid content and high sugar levels. The temperature of the tea, whether warm or cold, doesn’t matter, as long as it’s home-brewed without additives.
